The concept of telling a ghost story isn't a main feature of this episode but when I was reading the script it stuck out for me. I liked the idea of kids around a campfire telling a ghost story about a ghost who haunts the woods. Real or not how the kids would embellish the actual events and trying to create a scary image was my focus. I was also Listening to Stephen King's The Shining to be inspired by a great ghost story.

I had free rain to create an interesting cover that would relate to the episode they were prepping for. This one began a new process of trying to play with different environmental elements and how light is effected by rain. I wanted to keep it really basic using as few colors as possible to create a creepy night scene as the main character Raimy Explores a lead. This was also when I began reading the Vertigo graphic novels Hellblazer . The gritty style of the artwork used in these books spoke to me and felt right with the they of drawing I do. I also was listening to another Stephen King audio book Salem's Lot. The vampire theme and the dark night concept worked really well for me on this one.

This was one of my favorites for a long time it was my first effort using a different style of drawings combined with set photos that gave it a real cool feel. As well as choosing a color tone to use throughout the image. I was listening to an audio book of Stephen King's IT while I was coming up with the concept through to finishing it. I can still remember the different scenes from the story as I look at this image.

This was the first one I made and I wanted to capture the creepy element of being trapped in an underground cellar. I found for inspiration it really helps listening to creepy stories. During this drawing I was listening to Lore a podcast by writer and host Aaron Mahnke.
